"Drive
the City"
Bill Nichols
Drive the
City is the compositional vehicle for jazz composer,
Bill Nichols. As a saxophonist, keyboardist,
and multi-instrumentalist, he has played from
Florida to Alaska and all points in between
with various top 40 Show-bands, such as Spiral
Staircase, the Babbling Brooks Brothers and
others.
Bill has a degree in Music from USM and further
study in composition at the Dick Grove School
of Music in California. He has studied with
luminaries such as Dick Grove and in sessions
with Henry Mancini. He has also written Big
Band charts for the schools and universities:
USA, USM, and JCJC and has written original
compositions played by the City of Hattiesburg
Concert Band, as well as the JCJC concert band.
In recent years, he has run a private/commercial
recording studio which does projects of all
types. Bill's most recent work has been on the
internet through Steinberg's Inwire-Studios.com,
using the Rocket Network to play on albums from
artists in Hawaii, Australia, England, and others.
